Good fortune and Happy New Year

Every New Year’s Eve, my family gets Chinese takeout. It’s our little tradition. And every year, we trade fortunes from our cookies. Most of the time, our fortunes aren’t fortunes. They’re aphorisms or—occasionally—stupid jokes (those are the most disappointing).

This year, I got lucky.

This is all any author wants to hear, especially one who has a new book coming out in the next couple of months.

My new novel is a mystery, set on the Outer Banks of North Carolina and featuring the FBI agent in my novella, However This Is To Inform You. If you’re a fan of books like Richard Osman’s The Thursday Murder Club, you’ll like this one. For updates, sign up to my mailing list or follow me here.

Happy New Year to all of you. May your fortunes be as good as mine.
